We will hold community-based experience tours focusing on nature, people and culture that are loved by Oita citizens! There are 3 types of short trip that you can enjoy. If you’ve come to Oita to watch the Rugby World Cup 2019, or just to sightseeing, you are welcome to participate. All ages and nationalities are welcome.
Why don’t you meet and see the local people, nature, traditional culture and local cuisine. See with your eyes, feel with your heart, be soothed and make memories of your journey.

1.Watch Kagura
2.Eat Oita’s iconic foods
3.Tea ceremony experience at Compal Hall

「 Zazen & History of Oita City with Nordic walking experiential tour 」
Date: October 18, 2019 (Fri)
Registration 8:30 Start 9:00 End 13:00
Registration: Compal hall 1F Citizen Plaza
Course contents:
- Zazen experience at Manju-ji
- Learn about Namban culture at Namban BUNGO KORYUKAN(Otomo Ruins Discovery center)
- Get in touch with the nature of Oita at Ueno Forest
Registration period: July 1 10:00 ~ Until October 17 17:00
※ We will go ahead with the tour even if it rains. (However, in the case of very bad weather such as typhoon or heavy rain, it will be canceled. We will notify the participants the day before)
※ In this course we walk around the city of Oita. Please join us in comfortable clothes. Please refrain if you are not confident of your physical condition.

「 Making Oita’s iconic foods & seeing Japanese traditional dance 」
Date: October 19, 2019 (Sat)

Registration on the day: Compal hall 4F Cooking Training Room
Course Contents:
- Make and Eat Oita’s iconic foods
- Experience Japanese traditional dance and local children singing at Compal Hall
Registration period: July 1 10:00 ~ Until October 18 17:00
※ In this course we will be cooking. Please participate in clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
※ If you have food allergies, please offer in advance.
Participation fee: 2000 yen ※ For 4 years old or older
Target of participation: No restriction on age or nationality
(but we only explain in Japanese and English)
Capacity: 30 people for each tour
